Bashed Cabbage

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Brad McDonald and I created Bashed Cabbage Originals here in Brisbane, Australia as a creative space to pursue my passion for woodworking.

I grew up watching Dad build just about everything in our home, beds, dining tables, wall units, you name it.  I was always proud of what he did and with not knowing how he was creating these things, I was impressed and intrigued.  As a teenager he helped me with a couple of plywood pieces and when I completed my first wall unit tv cabinet, I'll never forget the feeling, and my love for timber work was born.

I love creating new pieces of original, functional timber art.  If I make you a table, side board, bed head or even a picture frame, it will have its own character and individuality.  No one else will have one like it. The creations will be one of kind and hand made.

I follow the direction of the timber itself.  The grain and shape play a huge role in how the piece evolves.  Yes, it will be a strong and functional item that will be in your family for generations, but the aesthetic and unique beauty of the piece will always be of utmost importance.
